(Overland Park, KS) April 1, 2017 – Timewalker Toys & Collectibles is excited to announce that pre-orders are forthcoming for its next big development project: a 1/6 scale star ship Enterprise.
Timewalker owner Steven Allen, a lifelong Star Trek fan, has been preparing for this project for years. “I think it’s time to take one-sixth scale collecting to new levels of realism with a full star ship environment.” The model will be based on the Enterprise from the classic TV series, the detailed plans of which have been researched by Allen over many years.
Questioned about the market viability of a 150+ foot model, Allen said, “Timewalker continues to make every effort to make high-end collecting accessible for our customers. We are offering a payment plan, of course, and each model will come with a fully functional space dock for easy display.”
Inspired by the recent 50th anniversary of the celebrated sci-fi series, this working model would be approximately 158′ L x 69′ W x 38′ H, and feature running lights, shields and photon torpedoes.
The fully functional model is expected to self-deliver to recipients starting in 2018. However, the transporter option proved more of an engineering challenge than expected, and has been delayed until 2020.
As demonstrated in Star Trek III: The Search for Spock, the Enterprise can be manned with only five senior officers. Luckily, Quantum Mechanix has jumped into the Star Trek Universe with its excellent line of one-sixth classic series figures, which are still available at TimewalkerToys.com.
